Sacramental Preparation

 

Policy Information:

Baptism

Couples requesting Baptism for their children are to be registered in the parish for a minimum of six months, regularly attend Sunday liturgy and be known to the pastoral staff. A baptism preparation session must be completed before a baptism date is set. Baptisms normally are scheduled at 12:30 PM on the first and third Sundays of each month and any weekend Liturgy by prior arrangement.

 

1st Eucharist & 1st Reconciliation

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is celebrated in the fall  of 3rd grade and the Sacrament of First Eucharist is celebrated the following spring. Attendance at the Generations of Living Faith monthly events, parent and child meetings and a retreat are prerequisites to receiving the Sacrament. Previous faith formation in 1st and 2nd grade is required. 

 

Sacrament of Reconciliation

1st & 3rd Sat. 3:00-3:45 PM (winter hours begin 1st Sunday in November), 4:00-4:45 PM (summer hours begin 2nd Sunday in March) 2nd Sat. Following the Vigil Mass 4th Wed. 11:30 AM-12:00 Noon or by appointment.

 

Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the fall after a preparation program beginning in the 9th grade. Eligibility is determined by regular attendance at the Generations of Living Faith monthly events.

 

Marriage

According to Canon law, marriages are to be celebrated in the parish church of the bride or groom. Arrangements are to be made at least six months in advance.
